THE PRESENT STATUS OF MUSICAL THERAPY

The web has examples of how music is used for therapy:  Harvard neurologist, Dr. Gottfried Schlaig  notes: (1) It creates recall for Alzheimer’s patients after they have forgotten all else. (2) It has helped people with Parkinson’s disease to walk. (3) It has aided stroke patients with damaged speech areas in the brain to regain their verbal ability.

THE PAST STATUS OF MUSICAL THERAPY

The Bible talks about the musical therapy in  I Samuel 16:14ff.  “But the spirit of the Lord had left Saul, and instead the Lord had sent a tormenting spirit  that filled him with depression and fear. “(some of Saul’s aids suggested a cure)  Verses 16, 17: “We’ll find a good harpist to play for you whenever the tormenting spirit is bothering you. The harp music will quiet you and you’ll soon be well…”  Verse 18: One of them said he knew a young fellow in Bethlehem….a talented harp player.  Verse 23: “And whenever the tormenting spirit from God would trouble Saul, David would play the harp; Saul would feel better, and the evil spirit would go away.”

THE FUTURE STATUS OF MUSICAL THERAPY

Music will be able to be used with pinpoint precision for helping to cure ailments by employing the way I that I align the twelve key signatures in the musical circle of fifths with the 12 zodiac signs. For example, music written in the key of one sharp (G major or E minor) can calm breathing difficulties.  Stomach ailments can be alleviated by listening to music in the key of “C” major or “A” minor.   I do not use the zodiac for prediction as I personally believe that it is not for man to know the future;  but rather, as an artistic  system that can make life more comfortable and pleasant.  My copyrighted book, which has been the result observation and  study over a span of 55 years of being a musician, will be available soon.  I will announce its ready date on this site.

  1. is C flat a different PITCH than B? If so, is it hihegr or lower? If it isnt a different pitch, then why say it is a different note ? How is it different? If you say it is different because it is named different, then of course I cant argue with that. But you seem to think there is a more fundamental difference, which there is not. Sing the Cb then sing B, or play them of a flute or violin. Then ask yourself are they the same or different. Jazz guys just call it B and they are right!

    1. Thank you for your interest. I reread the blog you are referring to and at least there, I didn’t see any mention of en-harmonics. On string instruments there could be a difference, On the piano, which is my orientation, there isn’t.
