The life of Golda Meir is told as a love story.   Golda hears the call of Zion but she does more than follow her heart’s desire, she helps to build a new nation.  Zion is a nature spirit whose home is an undefinable space in the Middle East.  He develops a special relationship with a young woman named Golda.  We (the audience) see him and hear his words but the characters onstage only sense his presence.  He is her inspiration and guide through the ups and downs of immigrating to Palestine, creating and building the state of Israel, then finding herself elected Prime Minister – all in the search of a way to be “safe in our own home”.  Golda’s loves, deeds, sacrifices and nation saving actions are told through the eyes of the spirit who loves her, Zion.
