Discovering Number Squares in the Shema Yisroel

Discovering Number Squares in the Shema Yisroel First, what is the Shema Yisroel?  It is an alliteration into English of the name of a key Hebraic prayer.  This blog will concern itself with the opening first line. The quote below explains its extreme significance.  I believe it harbors the gateway to a Golden Age Age of peace and plenty. The hidden values offer a path to a forgotten, lost universal order that was based on number squares. Wikipedia explains this first line as follows:

Discovering number squares in a prayer of extreme antiquity.
The opening 6 words revive a lost ancient order based on number squares.
Shema Yisrael at the Knesset Menorah in Jerusalem

Shema Yisrael (or Sh’ma YisraelHebrewשְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל‬; “Hear, [O] Israel”) are the first two words of a section of the Torah, and is the title (better known as The Shema) of a prayer that serves as a centerpiece of the morning and evening Jewish prayer services. The first verse encapsulates the monotheistic essence of Judaism: “Hear, O Israel: the LORD our God, the LORD is one” (Hebrewשְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ יְהוָה אֶחָֽד׃‬), found in Deuteronomy 6:4, sometimes alternatively translated as “The LORD is our God, the LORD is one.” Observant Jews consider the Shema to be the most important part of the prayer service in Judaism, and its twice-daily recitation as a mitzvah (religious commandment). It is traditional for Jews to say the Shema as their last words, and for parents to teach their children to say it before they go to sleep at night. Now to the task at hand- discovering number squares.

Discovering number squares with John Michell
This book has a solid basic explanation of ancient use of number squares.

Discovering Number Squares in this Key Creed of Judaism

As a prelude, in Hebrew letters doubled as numbers. There were no separate numbers. The same symbol represented both. Look up the Greek word, Gematria. To double check the arithmetic in this blog , ask someone fluent in Hebrew.  Also refer to the featured picture as I list the Shema’s words and the words with their numerical equivalents.

  1. Shema has a gematria of 410. The 9 x 9 number square has a core number of 41.  In antiquity, zero was not only the absence of number, it was considered to be a synthetic number. Look at the smallest number square. The 3 x 3 pictured above. Any 2 opposite numbers on this square total 10. Hence, 10 and its various powers are not their own independent single numbers. They result on this basic number square by adding any two opposite numbers on the perimeter. The 410 was taken as 41. The 9 x 9 number square was called the lunar number square. Here is the spelling of the word Shema:  שְׁמַע.
  2. Yisroel has a gematria of 541. By the rules of gematria, plus one was allowed per words in a phrase. I believe the number was 540 plus 1 for the Deity. Geometrically speaking, a pentagon totals 540° among its 5 vertices. Five is the core number on the 3 x 3 number square. It is the seed of all number squares. It ancient Greek it is the equivalent of The Grail. Here is the spelling in Hebrew:  יִשְׂרָאֵל
  3. The next word is so important, it appears in two of the basic ancient number squares, Yahweh.  This is the unutterable name of God. On the 5 x 5 number square, any 2 opposite numbers on the perimeter total 26. This square is dedicated to the planet, Mars. The Hebrew spelling is יְהוָה
  4. Next word is Elohaynu. Its numerical equivalent is 102. Look at the 4 x 4 number square. It is the number square of Jupiter. The 12 numbers around its perimeter total 102. אֱלֹהֵינוּ
  5. The 2nd use of the sacred 4 letter name of God refers to the 8 x 8 number square. The 8 x 8 and 5 x 5 number squares share common numbers. The 8 x 8 square of numbers was dedicated to Mercury the messenger. Any row of 8 numbers totals 260. On the 5 x 5 number square, any 2 opposite numbers total 26. Without the zero, it is the second reference to Yahweh   יְהוָה
  6. The final word, “echad” declares the oneness of God. Its numerical equivalent is 13. The number is at the core of the 5 x 5 number square אֶחָֽד

Meditation and Kabbalah

More on Discovering Number Squares: Aryeh Kaplan was a physicist/philosopher. The book referenced here He offers the formula on page 163 for determining the row total. It is also termed the (S)ide total, for any number square:

S = (n³ + n) ÷ 2.

When the double yud spelling is substituted for the four letter name, as it is the custom in prayer books, the sum of the 6 words becomes 1106. The prayer book spelling of the six words is pictured below.

Next, take the 13 x 13 number square. Fit it to the formula:  (13 x 13 x 13) + 13 ÷ 2 = 1105. By the ancient rules of gematria one may be added to the value to arrive at the prayer book gematria of  1106. Again, becomes the unity of God. Kaplan discusses how the 13 x 13 number square represents- Chesed or love on the Tree of Life. The next 6 words (see diagram below) are whispered) will be covered in future blogs. It directly points out the 17 x 17 number square. That square is dedicated to Netzach or victory on the Tree of Life. Used together, 13 x 13 magic square and the 17 x 17 display an ancient temple plan. Indeed, Victory is found in Love as all our religious teachers and prophets taught.

The Vessel holding a Tree of Life

Vessel and What’s inside the Overlapping Circular Centers

Vessel  and What’s inside the Overlapping Circular Centers. The Tree of Life is the central figure of Kabbalah. It has a special location. Two circles of equal diameter intersect center to center. The overlapping part in the picture below is called the “vesica piscis.” That translates from Latin to “vessel of the fish.”

The vessel, or vesica,is the overlapping red part of these two circles

The vessel pictured above holds the Tree of Life. That is the symbolic location of Paradise.
The classical, numbered Tree of Life fits perfectly into the center of 2 circles.

I have already several blogs on the “vesica”. They include the church of Glastonbury Abbey. The figure belongs to all creeds and nationalities. Now for a new take on the Tree of Life.

THE TREE OF LIFE OF THE VESSEL HOLDS 3 NUMBERED  BRANCHES ON  3 COLUMNS

As a preliminary, the 10 circles on the tree are numbered. Here, we look at the 3 vertical columns. Again, in Hebrew letters doubled as numbers. The same symbol represented both a letter and a number. Numbers stood for words. Words equalled numbers. This concept was called gematria. It is totally alien to the majority of current cultures. Working numbers and letters together works both side of the brain at once. Anyone fluent in Hebrew can verify the words and their numerical equivalents I use here.

  • The pillar on the left is numbers 3,5, and 8.  By addition 3 + 5 + 8 = 16.  Multiplying, 3 x 5 x 8 = 120.
  • The central pillars uses  1,6,9, and 10. By addition 1 + 6 + 9 + 10 = 26, Multiplied- 1 x 6 x 9 x 10 = 540.
  • The right pillar uses 2,4, and 7. By addition 2 + 4 + 7  = 13.  Multiplied-  2 x 4 x 7 = 56.

Today we will look at the numbers on the central pillar. It is called the “pillar of mildness.” This pillar is a pillar of peace. It brings together opposite extremes in order to harmonize. As you can see from the banner of the Church of Scotland, other cultures use the Tree of Life. Today, our topic will be the central pillar of the Hebraic Tree. Two key concepts of Judaism are defined by its 26 (total by addition)  and 540 (total by mutiplication).

  • In Hebrew letters, the 4 letter name of the Tetragrammaton  (Jehovah in English) is  יהוה. Its numerical equivalent is 26. Hebrew is written and read right to left. The 1st letter, yud, = 10;”hei” = 5; vav = 6;  the final “hei” is also 5. Thus 10 + 5 + 6 + 5 = 26. That is the sum of the central pillar (see above).
  • Israel  (יִשְׂרָאֵל) is “yud” = 10; shin= 300; reisch = 200; aleph = 1; lamed = 30. Thus, 10 + 300 + 200 + 1 + 30 = 541. The product of the 4 central numbers is 540. One, by a tradition called (Colel),  was often added for the presence of God (see the works of John Michell).

Thus, two key concepts of Judaism are hidden by number in the central pillar: God and Israel.  By the way,  in Greek, the Grail also equals 540 ( κρατήρ) using the same equivalency of letters and numbers.  Hence, the vessel also holds the Church of Scotland’s symbol for the Tree of Life.

Grail - where is it found? Can it Really Heal Humanity?

Grail – Where is it Hiding? Can it Really Heal Humanity?

Grail – Where is it Hiding?  Can it Really Heal Humanity?  It is from Greek krater (κρατήρ, a large wine-mixing vessel).

The Grail is quite near: It is in the Stonework of the Floor in the painting. Here's Where.
The Answer to Where the Grail is Hiding Lies in the Stonework of the Floor. Continue reading  for the answer. The lady is looking directly at it.

At last, I think the quest for the Holy Grail has been achieved. The lady in this painting is standing on the very spot. This blog will explain this age old mystery.  The painting is called:  How at the Castle of Corbin a Maiden Bare in the Sangreal and Foretold the Achievements of Galahad: illustration by Arthur Rackham, 1917

The Holy Grail is a dish, plate, stone or cup that is part of an important theme of Arthurian literature. According to legend, it has special powers and is designed to provide happiness, eternal youth and food in infinite. In short, the Grail heals.

The Grail is Enclosed by a Square on the Grid On the Floor. Most Likely, The Young Lady is Standing on the Spot

In Greek and Hebrew, the  letters doubled as numbers. John Michell, in his books, amply goes into this subject. It is called “gematria.” In his The View Over Atlantis he gives the Greek spelling as κρατήρ. By Greek gematria, that equals 540. The five sided pentagon has 540 degrees: Each angle has 108 degrees. 108 X 5 = 540. The Grail invokes the same tradition as Israel. When Israel is spelled in Hebrew: יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל – it equals 541. The number of 540 + 1 (541) invokes a tradition called “colel”. One (1) may be added to the word for the presence of God. Anyone knowledgable in Hebrew can verify the 541 of Israel. John Michell confirms entire concept colel in his books, including The View Over Atlantis. So do many other authors.

So where is the Holy Grail? Behold the grid on the floor. I picked up a tick-tack-toe section (3 x 3) pictured below. The lady is standing at the central five. In so doing, she has come into possession of the Holy Chalice. In this case, she is able to foretell the future

The Grail is the central 5 of this number square.

The central number 5 is the hidden location of the Grail

The Grail, as the center of this grid,  was also revealed to me by a lady. It was a female Indian spirit from the Lennie Lenape tribe that lived around Oquaga Lake in New York state. Many of my blogs have been about how this tiny grid above answers the quest. In its hidden codes it holds the unity of the sciences and arts of mankind. This spirit dictated a poetry book while hiking around Oquaga Lake. A new and fuller version of 120 pages will replace the older one as a product on DSOworks:  Hopefully by this June 20. It will say new and revised.  Check then. Thanks.

Psalms 5:8- Indiana Jones Style

Psalms 5:8- Indiana Jones Style. “Make thy way straight before my eyes.” This references the 3 x 3 number square that the Chinese refer to as the “lo shu.” I love the co-incidence between the placement of the scripture and the musical intervals that are visible by number.

  • As the first two musical overtones are the octave (8th) and fifth (5); we have chapter 5,verse 8 is an affirmation of intent.
  • As the psalms are sung, the 5th and 8th are the two basic “perfect”  musical intervals (the 4th is the final and third perfect interval, but it is an inversion, or turning upside down of the 5th).
  • The Oquaga spirit, of the matriarchal, Lennie Lenape tribe. instructed me on  Bluestone Mountain right by Oquaga Lake on the proper way to read the code as being through the lines. Looking at the code in this manner was also referenced by  Isaiah  40:3-5. Make straight in the desert a highway for our God……And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed.” In other words, look through the bars to find “the treasure of darkness and hidden riches of secret places.” (Isaiah 45:2-3). I have already blogged about the code on DSOworks.com.

PSALMS: HOW THE 3 X 3 NUMBER GRID HOUSES THE “GRAIL”

The 3 x 3 number grid houses the “Grail” at its core- being the number five. All even numbers are only surrounded by two lines. The odd numbers are surrounded by three. Only number five has a total square enclosure around it. It alone contains “the treasure of darkness.”  It is the core of the tic-tack-toe board. This seeming simple and tiny “grain of mustard seed” offers mankind  the direction to go in to “straighten” problems out.  The intent of associating number 5 and the grail is unmistakable. John Michell, in his work demonstrates how κρατήρ, a large wine-mixing vessel or the grail; when specified in Greek by the word “the”; has a gematria value of 540 (referring to the ancient equation of letters and numbers by the same symbol).  That is the number of degrees in any  a pentagon when its five angles are totaled. I believe we have “the Grail” in this simple number puzzle. It can do no less than offer a cure, or at least alleviate, our individual and collective problems. I hope you can see why I have called this blog: Psalms 5:8- Indiana Jones Style after the famous Grail scene at the end of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Also, keep watching my products page (DSOworks.com)  for my book of poetry called “The Oquaga Spirit Speaks”. I apologize for the slowness of its arrival. You will be entertained royally by the beautiful poetry given to me word for word while hiking around around Oquaga Lake by this wonderful Indian, female spirit.
